Janus provides access to more than 1800 catalogues of archives held throughout Cambridge. The work is in progress, with new catalogues being added regularly. Please visit often to see the latest additions. If you are using Janus for the first time, you may wish to read our information for new users before exploring further.

In the left hand search box there are four options for accessing the catalogues held within Janus.

Simple search allows you to enter any word or phrase to search the catalogues.

Advanced search takes you to a page where you can construct searches for a combination of terms and particular aspects of the catalogues.

Browse the catalogues takes you to a list of archival repositories from which you can choose to browse their individual catalogues. Select this option if you are interested in a specific catalogue and know the location of the archive to which it pertains.

Browse index terms takes you to a list of authorised terms which have been used to index the catalogues.
